Every company has a set of competitors in the marketplace. Because of the ease of searching the internet it is unavoidable that customers will compare your website to the websites of your competitors. So before designing your website it is invaluable to analyse the websites of your competitors.

Generate List of Competitors
The first step is to generate a list of who the competion are - using a combination of industry awareness and market research. Non-competitors can also be used for benchmarking.

Analysis of Content and Presentation
The content and presentation of each company's website will be assessed in turn, taking into account the impact of the home page, site navigation, readability, accessibility and other factors such as the quality and quantity of content on the website.

Report and Recommendations
Once the analysis is complete a short report will be created. This report will make recommendations for your website based on the profile of strengths and weaknesses of the competition. This report will help define the aims and objectives of your website, as well as giving you the confidence of knowing how your website relates to the competition.
